WEB DESIGN 1
The first semester of Web Design provides a great introduction to the programs involved
in creating quality Web pages and sites. Because students from all technical competency
levels are in the same class, most of the work is designed to allow time for everyone to
finish in a timely manner and for those that are advanced to move ahead or delve deeper
into the workings of a particular program.

The class is very much hands on, and the various lessons from different sources all build
upon each other and culminate in the creation of a web site. From Adobe Photoshop to
Adobe Dreamweaver and Flash, students will get an understanding of the concepts and
tools, as well as the strategies and decisions that go into creating web sites.

Students will work on their assignments and save each one to their student folder on the
server. Specific folders exist for each type of assignment. They will be graded and
returned to the folder, making for a near paper-less environment. Attendance is critical to
success in the class as the programs and texts used are only available in the classroom.
Texts are not checked out to students to take home.
